How to Treat Dry Skin

Most women will experience both ends of the spectrum when it comes to their skin. When you were young, your skin likely went through a phase of producing too many oils. Hello breakouts!

And as you age, especially into your 50s and 60s, your skin can lose a lot of that hydration. Many women share that their skin appears to be dull and dry. So if you struggle with this, here are some wholistic ways to hydrate for radiant skin!

1. Start from the Inside
Hydration truly begins inside the body. If you have dry skin, and you don't have a water bottle nearby, this is your first line of defense!

Nutritionists often recommend that you drink at least half your body weight in ounces, but you can easily drink much more than that! (Pro Tip--Try drinking water that has been filtered in a Berkey! Delish.)

2. Exfoliate
Every day your body releases millions of dead skin cells, which is a way that your skin is renewing itself. This is incredible, but many times there can be build up if there isn't a way to exfoliate. Make sure you have a way to exfoliate those skin cells routinely. For your face, we offer the Himalayan Pink Salt Exfoliator and for the Body we have a Peppermint Scrub.

3. Moisturize
Have a look at your current routine and make sure that you aren't stripping away your natural oils with harsh chemicals.

Your first "line of defense" for dry and dull skin is created by your own body! So let's protect those oils that by only removing dirt and impurities. This is the cornerstone of the Oil Cleansing Method.

Then once your skin is clean, make sure to use a high quality moisturizer, like our Miracle Overnight Repair Serum or our gentle Daily Moisturizer to be used in the morning, and under make-up, if desired.

Many times our skin reflects what is going on both inside our bodies and on top of our skin. If you are seeing any issues, although it can be frustrating, try to solve the issue at the source so that you can enjoy longterm results!
